9:00-9:15 a.m. Welcome & Program Overview by Dr. Lin 9:20-11:00 a.m. Panel Discussions Title: Observation Presenters: Veronica Calderon, Staci Davis, Susan Parnell and Diana Zabre Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to help undergraduate students understand what to expect in order to have successful observations. We will discuss how to schedule observations, what to do once you arrive at the school, what to look for while in the classroom and provide an example of a written observation. Observing can be overwhelming, but with the right strategies, you can achieve successful observations.
Title: Student Teaching in the Elementary Schools Presenters: Kristen Stasney, Sandra Klein, Shannon Beard, Amanda Polak Purpose: To inform future student teachers what to expect and how to best prepare for the student teaching experience in an elementary classroom. Title: How to Complete Course Work and Assignments (EC-4 Generalist) Presenters: Amanda Conroy, Ashley Josey, Sarah Labay, & Kathleen Briggs Purpose: To be announced
Title: How to Complete Course Work and Assignments (4-8 Generalist)
Presenters: Kimberly Matula, Kamala Robinson, April Lucich, Anna Keeran
Purpose: Inform beginning students with helpful hints on how to complete their course work and assignments successfully.
Title: “Show Me the Money! $$$” How to Actually Become a Teacher Presenters: Kayce Melody, Joey Dyrud, Maretta Cox, & Heather Miller
Purpose: To inform and guide the pre-service teacher in becoming certified as a teacher and getting the job in the school, as well as inform the pre-service teacher about experiences in middle and high school and what to expect with Dr. Lin's seminar.
