Guest Book

Today I attended "Professional Day" at the UH-Cinco Ranch campus. I found it to be incredibly informational pertaining to student teaching, the Education program at UHV, and employment at various school districts. I found the student teacher's presentations very well planned and significant. I left feeling better prepared and more confident. I thought the panel of alumni teachers was very helpful, the audience was free to ask questions. I feel this day would benefit any student in this field, or one considering it.....and you get lunch!

I was motivated by the seminar that was held on Saturday. I loved hearing the stories from the alumni. I like when the alumni was authentic with their responses. The student teachers motivated us preservice teachers to keep on going and not quit even if it gets confusing.
Thank-you Dr. Lin!

Dr. Lin, Thank you so much for all your work in making yesterday’s professional seminar  possible. I just wanted to mention my appreciation for your commitment to teaching and your unwavering dedication toward all your students. Yesterday’s seminar was testimony to your pursuit for excellence and commitment to your students at UHV Cinco Ranch.  On a personal level, I thank you for all the help and guidance that you have given me during the past two years at UHV. Your professionalism and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed as you are a constant source of inspiration to me and many other students. Best regards and many blessing to you,

Rosario M. Dubois

Dr.  Lin, First and foremost, I would like to thank you for doing such a wonderful job and for making the “Professional Development Day”; a true success. I really gained so much from listening to, and talking with, former UHV students.  It was really comforting to hear their stories and to know that someone who has “been there and done that” was so willing to freely share their own personal experience with us. I believe that having attended this Professional Development Day gave me the “peace of mind”; not only to become a better student, but also to become better teacher in the very near future. Thanks again for all of your efforts, they are truly appreciated.  Sincerely,

Thank you, Dr. Lin, for the tremendous amount of work you put into last Saturday!!  And, thank you for pulling the strings to get us the lunch!!!!  I had two favorite parts about the day.  I liked seeing my old classmates suddenly appear and speak to us as teachers.  It gave me more confidence in myself to see the confidence they had in themselves.  Made me realize that I will be in their shoes soon!!  Also, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Dean Stansell.  He has a very warm, relaxed manner and reminded me of the way my father tells stories. Just wanted you to know I appreciate all your efforts to always make our experiences the best they can be!!!

Dr. Lin, I wanted to thank you for putting on the professional workshop last weekend.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot of useful information.  The best part was hearing from past students who are now in the classroom.  I also enjoyed being with so many of my fellow classmates.  Thanks again for doing this for us students.

I thought the Professional Day that I attended on November 5 was very beneficial.  The student teachers and teachers gave great information that will benefit me in the long run.  The infromation that was presented to us was very useful.  I would like to thank Dr. Lin for a great job.  Having teachers like you supporting us is great.

Dr. Lin, the survivors' secrets for student teaching, teaching activities that work with students, Dr.Stansell's visit and the sharing from the alumni all made for a great Professional Development day.  Thank you for organizing the seminar and making it available.

Dr. Lin, I really enjoyed the seminar you and your student teachers hosted on November 5. I enjoyed the tri fold presentations, they gave me lots of ideas for lesson plans that I am struggling with. I also enjoyed the former students that are presently working in schools. They had some great advice about not overwhelming ourselves with too many hours.
