9:00-9:10 a.m. Welcome & Program Overview by Dr. Lin 9:10-11:00 a.m. Panel Discussions Title: Insider Secrets: Making School Life Easier Presenters: Julie Breath, Candace Clark, Melissa Melton, Rebecca Rudd Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to assist pre-service teachers in learning the “inside secrets” to make school life more manageable and help to weed out the information that is most important for their success. There is a lot of confusion and anxiety when you begin the education program, and it can lead a person to feel a little overwhelmed. We will share our personal trials and tribulations while providing tips and strategies to keep them organized, ahead, and sane as well as successful during each of their semester courses. Title: Student Teaching: Practice Makes Perfect Presenters: Elizabeth Baker, Vanessa Masson, Laura Turner, Deanna Martinez, Mandi McNeely, & Chrissy Wagner Purpose: To inform future student teachers what to expect and how to best prepare for the student teaching experience in a classroom setting Title: Classroom Management “The Good, Bad and Ugly” Presenters: Brandy Bielik, Jennifer Huff, Trudy Moore, & Samuel Hamman Purpose: To help student teachers manage time, become more efficient, and maintain low stress levels. To reduce the anxiety among incoming student teachers Title: Pay Attention All Future Teachers!! & The ABC's of Student Observation Presenters: Donna Harrison, Yvonne Meece, & Bonnie Khan Purpose: The purpose of our presentation is to help undergraduate students understand what to expect in order to have successful observations before and during student teaching. We will give pre-service teachers tools, tips, and advice to make classroom observations a rewarding experience.
