Title: The In’s and Out’s of Observations
Presenters: Courtney Lopez, Sharndra Johnson, Briggette Hawkins, & Kelli Kenne
Purpose: Inform pre-service teachers of what's in and what's out for detailed observations. This PowerPoint presentation will give many useful tips and serve as a guide to making classroom observations a less daunting and more rewarding experience.
 
Title: Sanely Surviving School
Name of Presenters: Emily Clark, Michelle Graham, Casey Pavlicek, & Shelly Watson
Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to assist pre-service teachers in being prepared and more successful in their course works and assignments. There is a lot of confusion and anxiety when you begin the education program, and it can lead a person to feel a little overwhelmed. Our discussion will help these pre-service teachers have a better understanding and smoother transition into the program and throughout its course. We will provide helpful tips and suggestions to keep them on track, confident, and successful during each of their semester courses.
 
Title: “TOP Strategies”
Names of Presenters: Melanie Ivy, Michelle Johnson, & Mark Smith
Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to assist students with management of course load, family life, and work.  We will give tips on how to dissolve the overwhelming feeling of the beginning of the semester course load.  Our discussion will help students better prepare for the hurdles they will have to face in their upcoming semesters.
 
Title: ABC’s of Lesson Planning
Presenters: April Berckenhoff, Marisa Caster, Mealissa Hoppe, & Marie Mendoza
Purpose: The purpose of this discussion will be to help student teachers to tackle the overwhelming task of lesson planning by showing how to plan successfully, anticipate challenges, and adapt lessons for better learning in the classroom.

Title: How to Select Which School to Do Your Student Teaching / 'Sink or Swim: Your Guide to Student Teaching'
Presenters: Teresa Breaux, Kathy Easley, Jennifer Prause, & Kimberley Westerman
Purpose: The purpose of these discussions are to provide student teachers with recommendation and suggestions when selecting a school to do their practicum student teaching.  Information will be provided to the future student teachers with recommendations and suggestions to promote success during their initial experiences in the classroom.


Title: “Concerns of Junior and Senior High Student Teaching”
Name of Presenters: Chad Divin, Janet LeBlanc, Carolyn Stott, & Laurie Tabasco
Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to help alleviate the concerns of incoming student teachers. We will compare student teaching experiences in the various grades, and how different districts and schools handle certain aspects of teaching.
